LEDGERS Partner Dr. Yass Alkafaji granted Professor Emeritus Title

Dr Yass Alkafaji, LEDGERS Accounting & Auditing Senior Partner, was granted the honorary title of Professor Emeritus for his contributions to the American University of Sharjah(AUS).  

Yass Alkafaji is an academician and a practising auditor. He taught accounting classes at Mississippi State University, Bowling State University, and Northeastern Illinois University-Chicago. At AUS, he is a professor in the Accounting Department, and he teaches auditing classes at the graduate & undergraduate levels and International Financial Reporting Standards at the undergraduate level. 

His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, UAE Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of the American University of Sharjah (AUS) chaired the board of trustees meeting which approved granting the honorary title of Professor Emeritus to Dr Yass Al Kafaji from the School of Business Administration-Accounting Department. 

He has over 45 years of experience and hundreds of articles and publications in the field. Some of his publications include:

Criteria for recognition as Professor Emeritus includes: 

  • a sustained record of teaching excellence, 
  • evidence of significant scholarly or appropriate professional attainment, and 
  • proof of service to the college and profession.
